Orthodox Easter Sunday, May 2, 2021

Many of you had questions about the difference in dates between the traditional Easter Sunday and Orthodox Easter Sunday.

It’s simple actually.  The date for traditional Easter Sunday is based upon the Gregorian Calendar.  It was the calendar put into place by Pope Gregory XIII in the year 1582.

The date for Orthodox Easter Sunday is based upon the Julian Calendar.  It was the calendar put into place by Julius Caesar and the calendar system in use at the time of Christ.  This year, that date is May 2.

Regardless of which date you observe, Happy Easter!

Blessings for a Joy Filled Week,
